What is seduction? The new law of attraction with Burlesque Star Kitty Cavalier (Glimpse TV)

If you are human, there’s probably been at least one time in your life when you found something about yourself unloveable.

Maybe you’ve found your belly to be too jiggly. Maybe you snort when you laugh. Maybe you’re dyslexic or have a terrible sense of direction. Maybe you spend money impulsively and wish you didn’t.

I invited burlesque star and seduction expert Kitty Cavalier on Glimpse TV to teach us what she knows about learning how to love the parts of ourselves that we think are unloveable.

What does a burlesque star and the headmistress at Kitty Cavalier’s School of Charm and Cheek know about loving yourself no matter what?

Well, as we dove deeper into one of the most fun interviews I’ve ever done, it became clear that she knows quite a lot.

Kitty used to be a shy girl, watching episodes of Real Sex on HBO and wishing she had the cojones to live full out like the people on the show. She was a corporate trainer who owned way too many pairs of sensible black pants. She struggled with eating disorders, hating her body, and feeling as though she wasn’t fully living.

Now she teaches women the art of seduction as a spiritual practice full time.

Kitty’s story will teach you how to:

  • love yourself no matter what, full out, just for the f*ck of it
  • learn to spend money in ways that are in alignment with your truest self instead of in accordance with fleeting impulses
  • attract your heart’s true desire through learning what true seduction is (and what it’s not)
  • decipher what living an authentic life actually means and how to do it
  • turn your flaws into your greatest assets of attraction
  • and much more deliciousness!

Watch the episode below and prepare to be absolutely charmed by the beautiful and insightful Kitty Cavalier. Then, visit her site to learn more. She has an online course starting July 1st called Your Seductress – Unveiled that I highly recommend checking out.

    Hi Ladies,

Thank you so much for this video. I was seduced by both of you and could not stop watching :-)
Your words and thoughts truly resonated with me. I have been doing a bit of soul scrubbing as of late and I have found so much shame about my body. Not just about the flaws but also about the goods. I feel ashamed of looking voluptuous. I have been ashamed of this my whole life. Part of this is due to my childhood sexual abuse but I also think that this shame was/is reinforced by society and the way voluptuous women are viewed as a whole. I have recently started a journey to heal these old wounds and to rediscover the goddess within and this video was very timely. Thank you both for your courage and your voices. REOW!

  • Talk about timing! This is amazing, I’ve had body issues my entire life and lately I’ve been tearing my hair out (not literally) trying to make me love all the things I hate about my body. As soon as I heard “Flaunt your flaws” I instantly had an aha.

While I’m not gonna rock my belly out for the world to see just yet, it has made me look at my body in a different way. Rather than hiding or being uncomfortable, I’m gonna start looking at my belly and my thighs as the hottest assets on my body.

Thank you SO MUCH Kate & Kitty. This episode was wonderful to watch!

  • This is really interesting. I hadn’t really given seduction much thought before, even though the ideas of using flaws as an avenue to deal with – and enhance – poor self-esteem isn’t an alien one. And I read an interesting post the other day by a woman who insisted the “loving your flaws” was problematic because, perhaps those “flaws” aren’t flaws to begin with.

Sometimes by trying to break a binary, you end up reinforcing it.

I think [the conversation around flaws] complicates attempts at self-love because you’re dividing the body into two separate parts: the socially acceptable parts (that you probably get praise for a lot) and the parts that people condemn (either culturally or inter-personally). By fixating on flaws, it reinforces the idea that there’s something wrong with you to begin with, and validates – to an extension – some of the cultural conversation about what is and isn’t considered attraction.

I guess for me, I would think that telling people that there’s nothing wrong with them is really fundamental, and that other people’s perceptions about their personhood are irrelevant and shouldn’t have any kind of power over their emotional and psychological selves.

Secondly, I would suggest that there are no such thing as flaws – you weren’t born broken, no one is – people are just teaching you to have a low opinion about either your whole self or parts of your self.

Just an observation I had after the video – which was really fun to watch. So happy I subscribed to the blog.

Tatiana – I love your perspective on this. It’s great food for thought. There is nothing wrong with any of us. We are whole and complete exactly as we are :)
